I haven't done a substantial update in awhile, so here's one :)
Things have been going really well. I'm almost at the 55lb lost mark. I'm actually shocked it's still coming off at so rapid a pace, but things have been stressful lately and I've been just exhausted. That probably contributes to eating less...
My Mom had a very serious lung surgery last week, and has been diagnosed with a disease called Mycobacterium avium Complex which will require 2 weeks of IV antibiotics and then an additional 12-18 months of oral antibiotics. The treatment has a 95% success rate. It's intense and it was a scary week last week, there was a point when she was "in the red zone" due to low blood pressure. She finally got discharged on Friday so I picked her up from the hospital and took her home. I am just so grateful she is going to recover!
I spent most of the weekend taking care of her, which was tiring but rewarding, I feel good for being able to help her and be there. :)
It has been an insanely hot weekend.
(proof):
At my parents, they have a huge pool. I used it for exercise quite a bit the last time I went crazy on the LA Weight loss diet, and it was great exercise. But as I continued to put on weight, I would avoid it. I haven't owned a bathing suit in 15 years, first of all (I will use an old tshirt and board shorts when I go in). But the past year as the weight really piled on, I didn't even want to go in clothed. Then the clothes would stick to me and everyone would see my fat. But this weekend, sitting out back while my Dad cleaned the pool, I really wanted to go in. It was boiling hot, the pool was clean and glistening, and it was a gorgeous summer Saturday.
Now, my Dad is not a "relaxing" kind of guy. He "relaxes" by working out. Right now, he's running a consulting company and working on his dissertation for his PhD. He works from like 6am to 9pm every single day and then goes to bed. Well, I put on my *best best* pleaseeee puppy dog face and asked him to go swimming. He refused, but I laid the guilt on. Finally, he gave in, so we went in the pool together and played catch with a ball. It was so great.
It was really fun, and the best part is: I found an old Marilyn Manson t-shirt I haven't fit into since *high school* and wore it with an old high school pair of khaki shorts from when I worked at Blockbuster. I could not BELIEVE this shit actually fit me, it was such an unbelievable feeling!
For Father's Day today, I took Dad to lunch at "The Original Pancake House". It was my second attempt at eating diner food, and both times a single scrambled egg with cheese has been delicious, protein-filled, and settled great in Lily. Dad got a HUGE omelet that looked like a crepe or a football or something!
So that was my weekend. Father's Day, swimming and diners.
How are all of you, my lovely readers?!

Sounds like an awesome weekend. :D You're looking great! PS - I agree, this hot weather needs to stop (but of course it won't). The thermometer in my car said 103 yesterday! And the heat index was like 108! Wtf, mate!?
You are doing so great!! i am jealous you keep losing - I cannot get out of my stall!
I'm also jealous you got to spend father's day with your dad - it looks like you had a great time! I will have to celebrate with my Dad over the 4th of July weekend.
** Keep going girlie, you are doing an amazing job!!!! **
Thanks so much :)
Mary, I believe it's normal for stalls here and there. That's why I'm shocked it's not happening to me. You will be able to get back to it. Perhaps you can kickstart it with more rigorous exercise?
Will, it's good to see you here :) Still WoWing?
That's fab Dara- sounds like you had a great time!
Father's day is the first Sunday in September in New Zealand, so I'll celebrate it then.
Wait- was that egg you had at ihop with Nick and me your first attempt at diner food? I feel so special, like I de-virginised you or something! Love you!
It's true Hayley. You broke my diner cherry ;)
That omelette your dad had looks SCARY! haha. Those khaki shorts look rad, too. So glad you got to spend time with him.... seems like it was pretty awesome.
