Some weird stuff...

Well, I am currently working at Starbucks for their free wi-fi. Our power decided to go out in the middle of the night. Who loves sleeping in 90 degree heat? Me, really. lol.

Anyway I wanted to post about two weird things that keep happening health-wise, in case Melinda, Mary or anyone else who has had the surgery can give me some advice.

1. I keep feeling like I'm going to black out when I stand up. Even if I've only been sitting for a short period of time. I'm wondering if it has something to do with dehydration, even though I'm drinking like a camel? I know I'm still not getting enough water...someone else suggested maybe it's low blood pressure. Have either of you experienced this?

2. The next weird thing is being really cold in my extremities. Once again, I'm not sure why...if I'm losing weight so I'm just getting colder easier? Or is my blood slower?

I wonder if these things are connected...hrm....anyone?

you should totally check that out with the doc. cold extremitities can be a sign of poor circulation which can be a result of low blood pressure which can cause blackouts from standing.

I had one day where I could not stand up without feeling dizzy. I took the day off from work, slept a lot and it went away. I have a friend at work who had RNY 2 years ago (and still keeps 125lb off)- she told me that's how she DUMPS! She gets dizzy and lightheaded and a little pain in her chest. She doesn't have the puking or whatever. If it continues you really do need to check the doctor though!!

Cold extremities... sorry hun. That's now a way of life for us! argh! And, the dizzyness is also a common thing for me, too. But, yes I do have low blood pressure. I always have. Sometimes nurses ask, "Is it always low?" and want to recheck it. I say, "Yes its always low, That's normal". Ask your doctor though. He might need to run some tests...
