Medicines

So something I didn't really think about, but should have...medicines. So far, I've spent over $200 on prescriptions. I am on high dose antibiotics / acid pump inhibitor meds. After the surgery, I will be taking blood thinning medications subcutaneously everyday for a month - that was expensive. Insurance saved me over $1000 so far...thank god for EJ working at Starbucks so I can be covered under his insurance. Otherwise I'd be screwed.

Still have to pick up the pain medicine, B12 shots, and gallbladder stone prevention medicine. Good lord I wonder how much more I'll be spending...

omg I HATE THAT! someone should make a website talking about what REALLY to expect from surgeries. I didn't know after my foot surgery i was gonna have a swollen foot for 4-6 months (cant fit into any of my shoes) and I didnt know i would not be able to take a subway places for a long time- it turns out every week I have to goto the DR for 10 weeks- (thats 50$ copay each time) and cabs to and fro is 20$ so $700 just after the surgery- plus the 1k deductible from insurance for the surgery itself plus physical therapy copays plus medication - its fucking insane!! And no one tells you to anticipate this- I dont even mind the $ - I wish someone would have told me about the after surgery part more in detail. I commend your blog dude!! Be super honest and give it to them how it is- even if its gross shit going on- because people need to know so they can make an educated decision for themselves if placed in the situation in which they are thinking about getting GB.

love u- dont stress- stay positive - and follow the post op rules!
